Mary Sherman, 97, of Texarkana, Arkansas, died Tuesday, August 30, 1994, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Sherman was born August 25, 1897, in Prescott, Arkansas. She was a homemaker and a Nazerene. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Sherman Sr., who died Dec. 25, 1953, one son, George Sherman Jr. who died July 7, 1966, and one daughter, Billie Oxford, who died February 29, 1992.
Survivors include one son, James H. Sherman of Texarkana; four daughters, Doris Whitehead of Baytown, Texas, Alta Faye Clark of Longview, Texas, and Enid Wood and Bonnie S. Clark of Texarkana; two brothers, Shelbie F. Hunter of Emmet, Arkansas and George W. Hunter of Texarkana, Arkansas; one sister, Jane U. Duncan of Hot Springs, Arkansas; 25 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in East Memorial Gardens Cemetery under directions of East Funeral Home.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday at the Funeral Home.
The family will be at Spanish Trace Apartments No# 83.
