BENTONVILLE — Richard M. Short, 80, of Bentonville, died Jan. 27, 2002, at Bates Medical Center in Bentonville. He was born April 18, 1921, in Kidder, Mo., to Joseph and Lura Meloy Short. He returned to Bentonville in January 1998 from Apache Junction, Ariz. He was a parts manager in the trucking industry. He was a member of the New Prospect Church and enjoyed sports, dancing, fishing, camping and traveling.
Survivors include two sons, Bradley Short and wife Gail of Garfield, Gregory Short and wife Brenda of Sarcoxie, Mo.; one daughter, Patricia Stanley and husband Raymond of Seligman, Mo.; one brother, Kenny Short of Atlanta, Ga.; one sister, Marjorie Short of Belton, Mo.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Benton County Memorial Park with the Rev. Ron Shults officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Northwest Honor Guard of Rogers.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers.
