Funeral services were held in the Brashears Funeral Home chapel here Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock for Roy Gurley, 61, of Garber, Okla. Mr. Gurley died in the Springdale Memorial Hospital Thursday, January 26, after a few months illness.
He was born January 25, 1895 at Kingston, the son of S. M. Gurley and Anna Lane Gurley. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. and the Masonic Lodge.
Mr. Gurley was married to Miss Cora McConnell September 12, 1915. They lived in Wyoming for 15 years, then moved to Oklahoma where they spent the rest of their married life. He was an employee of the Cities Service Oil Company.
Survivors include his wife, Cora, of the home; his father, S. M. Gurley of Manhattan Beach, Calif.; two brothers, Chester and Raymond Gurley of California; four sisters, Grace Wheeler and Lillian Gurley of California, Mrs. Jack Moore of Route 2, Huntsville, and Mrs. Eula Friesel of Washington, D.C. A daughter died in 1925.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Cecil Garrison and Clyde Johnson. Burial was in the Huntsville cemetery under the direction of the Brashears Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were: Orlie Phillips, Wallace McConnell, Claud Moore, Claud McConnell, Fred Moore and Bill Phillips.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the I.O.O.F. Lodge.

Cora Myrtle Gurley, 84, of Huntsville, died Feb. 1, at the Huntsville Memorial Hospital. She was born Aug. 23, 1896 at Whorton Creek, the daughter of A.M. and Louisa Dotson McConnell. She was a member of the Church of Christ and the widow of William Roy Gurley who preceded her in death, Jan. 26, 1956.
She is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Wilda Keen, Mrs. Vera Foster and Mrs. Doris Sandefer all of Sacramento, Calif.
Services were held Wednesday at 3 p.m. in the Brashears Funeral Chapel with minister, Bill Hooten, officiating. Interment will be in the Huntsville Cemetery.
