August 5, 1886 - September 23, 1967
Marion Lafayette Doris, aged 81, died Saturday night at a local hospital following a long illness. Mr. Doris was born in 1886, at Cross Roads the son of George and Nan Smith Doris, and he lived in Camden for the past forty one years. He was a retired millwright and a member of Grace Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lizzie Ethridge Doris, one daughter, Mrs. Houston Mullins of Camden, six sons, Elzie, Jack, Dan and Junior Doris all of Camden, Ira Doris of Dallas, Texas, and Douglas Doris of Pine Bluff; one sister, Mrs. W. M. Spooner of Springhill, Alabama, fifteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday at 10 a.m. at Proctor Funeral Home with burial in Chambersville Cemetery, near Thornton. (Camden News - September 25, 1967)
