Father: Jacob B. Allison
Mother: Maria Allison
Spouse: Carrie Vaughn
Marriage Date: 22 Sep 1889 Kearney, Nebraska
Funeral services for Mr. Joe B. Allison were conducted Tuesday morning at 10:00 o'clock by Rev. J. I. Cossey at the First Baptist church with Mrs. J. I. Cossey in charge of the music. Miss Amanda Dye sang as a sol, "Death is Only a Dream," a favorite son of Mr. Allison. The choir composed of Miss Dye, Mrs. Cossey, Mrs. John E. Miller, Mrs. W. E. Walls, Mrs Guy Newsom, Mamie E. Snipes, John Carter, Carl Smith, A. W. Hoofman and J. D. Pope sang "Lead Kindly Light" and "Abide With Me" with Miss Winifred Thomas at the organ.
The Pastor read some comforting passages of scripture and offered prayer. He spoke words of praise of the life of the deceased, telling of the quiet, unassuming way in which he went about his daily duties, striving at all times to live the life of a good husband, father, neighbor and citizen. Mr. Allison was one of White county's oldest most reliable citizens. The large funeral cortege and the lovely flowers spoke eloquently of the high esteem in which Mr. Allison was held in the community from which he has gone.
