March 30, 1876 - January 9, 1955
L. L. Knight, aged 78, well known resident of Dallas county died at his home near Ouachita Sunday morning. Mr. Knight was born March 30, 1876 at Clanton, Alabama. He moved to Dallas County, Arkansas at an early age and has lived there since that time. He was a member of the Sardis Methodist church and had been a member of the masonic lodge for over 50 years. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Eritha Shell of Houston, Tex. and Mrs. Tate McGehee of Fordyce; two sons, Felix Knight of Houston, Texas; and Lewis Knight of Fordyce; three brothers, Berry, Kiro and Walter Knight, all of Camden; one sister, Mrs. Susie Campbell of Camden; and by two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Sardis Methodist church at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday conducted by Rev. Roscoe Walsh of Bearden, and Rev. Thompson of Sparkman. Burial will be in Sardis Cemetery by Proctor Funeral Home. Active bearers will be members of the masonic lodge of Sparkman. His body will be taken to his home at 3:00 p.m. this afternoon, where it will remain until funeral time. (Camden News - January 10, 1955)
