Anne Lucille Abernathy, 85 at Pangburn. She was a graduate of UCA.
She taught Japanese, Arkansas and Texas schools.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Fulbright Sunday School Class, AARP, Quilters Guild, Hummel Association, Texas Retired Teachers Association, Extension club and several professional associations. She was preceded in death by her husband, MSgt. William Abernathy, USAF, her parents Hugh Chester Crook and Carrie A. Marsh Crook, brothers, Hughie W. Crook and Aubrey Leon Cook, sister Audrey Lenora Crook Dodd.
She is survived by brothers, LCol. Lonnie Harold Crook, USAFR (Ret) and their wives Dorabel Whitlatch Crook and Juanita Melton Crook, respectively, as well as a host of nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Frank Warden assisted by Rev. Mike Morey, First United Methodist Church, Searcy 1:30 p.m. Friday with burial at Henderson Cemetery Pangburn.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. on Thursday.
