When George Martin Chapman was born on June 28, 1887, in Marysville, Kansas, his father, Samuel, was 25 and his mother, Pheobe, was 20. He married Claudia E. Andrews on February 12, 1916, in Pangburn, Arkansas. They had five children in 10 years. He died on July 15, 1947, in Judsonia, Arkansas, at the age of 60, and was buried there.
Judsonia-George M. Chapman, aged 60, merchant in the Providence community, died at his home, north of Judsonia, Tuesday.
He is survived by his wife Mrs. Claudia Chapman; four sons, Cary, Robert, Ray and Rex and a daughter, Miss Ruth Chapman, all of Providence; three brothers, William of Providence, Ted of San Diego, Cal., and Charles of Judsonia, and a sister, Mrs Harvey Penn of Jusonia.
