BENTONVILLE - Jeffrey Daniel Scates, 60, of Bentonville, died Nov. 19, 2018, at Legacy Village Hospice in Bentonville. He was born Dec. 16, 1951, in Wichita, Kan., to Richard Thomas Scates and N. Jane (King) Scates.

He graduated from Eureka Springs High School in 1976 and married Rebecca Sue (Prange) O'Malley on Sept. 26, 1992.

He owned and operated ASAP Screen and Promotions in Pineville, Mo.

He loved NASCAR, the outdoors (camping, offroading and riding motorcycles).

Daniel witnessed his Christian faith to everyone he met and always had a positive attitude in the face of his failing health. He was a member of the Bella Vista Baptist Church and Bella Vista Men's Bible Study Group.

Survivors are his wife Rebecca Sue Scates of Bentonville; his parents, Richard and Jane Scates of Bentonville; a daughter, Alisa Scates of Booneville, Ark.; two step-children, Chad O'Malley and wife Amber of Bentonville, Jennifer Dixon and husband Shawn of Pea Ridge; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Service is set for 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1 at Bella Vista Baptist Church. Arrangements are by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge. Burial will be in Walden Cemetery in Busch, Ark.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Dec. 1 at the church before the service.
