Erik Dean Culhane was born May 4, 1980, and went to be with Jesus at the age of 26 on June 13,
2006.
Erik was the beloved husband of Amanda Culhane and the wonderful daddy of Cassie Marie, age 3 and brand new daughter, Elsie Anne. Everyone who knows Erik remembers his crooked grin, and joy of life. His life was a testimony of living each day for the Lord and sharing his faith with all he met. He was a man of integrity, he was humble, selfless, loyal, honorable and a strong man of faith. He showed patience, humor and endurance in all the ups and downs of this life. Everyone he met was touched in a unique way by his playful and gentle loving spirit. He made everyone feel valued and special.
Erik was a born again believer led by the Holy Spirit and fellowshipped with family and friends. Erik, was a lifelong fun seeker. He was a former life Boy Scout. His interests and hobbies included spelunking, rappelling, paintball, skydiving, winter and water sports and jumping on the trampoline with his precious Cassie. Erik had a special gift with children and had many, many "little" friends. He was never too busy to notice them and take time to "play." Erik treated everyone with respect ... young, old, rich or poor, he looked for the good in all he met. His zest for life and love of Christ brought joy to every life he touched.
Erik's family was his life's mission. He joined his heart with Amanda McDonald on Aug. 4, 2001. He and his helpmate of almost five years. were blessed with two precious daughters. Erik was such a "hands on daddy" that he insisted on delivering both Cassie and Elsie. Their marriage has been an inspiration for many of the young men and women in their lives.
His loving parents are Larry and Judy Culhane. He was part of a big happy family. Brothers are Matt and wife Carrie, and Caleb. His sisters are Sarajane, Rio and Emma. His grandparents are Les and Rio Kittelson and Ida Shatto. Erik was the spark that kindled the fire of love in our family.
Erik's in-laws are Jim and Christina McDonald. Their children are Ashley and husband Lance, Eric, Stephen and Timothy. Having Erik become a part of their family brought each one joy and many blessings. His love was "the real thing" and touched our hearts.
Erik will be missed by his many friends and family. Those who share his faith look forward to our heavenly reunion with him.
Erik was the owner of Artistic Concrete Designs in Lowell. He believed the verse, "A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches." He had been taught a strong work ethic and had integrity modeled by his dad and took that heritage very seriously. He was a member of the NWA Homebuilders Association.
Erik's life and legacy were celebrated by friends and family on Friday, June 16 in Eureka Springs. He was laid to rest in Walden Cemetery. The "Erik Culane Memorial Fund" has been set up for his wife and daughters through Community Bank and Arvest Bank. Any and all locations throughout the state will be able to accept donations.
Arrangements were by Nelson Funeral Service in Berryville.
