Clyde Arendale, 69, of Sonora, died April 26 at his home. Born Aug. 8, 1908, at Hindsville, he was the son of John and Shirley Smith Arendale and was a retired construction worker.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Walda Lawson Arendale of the home; one son, James Arendale of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Bill (Shirley) Wilson of Tyler, Texas, Carol Arendale and Linda Arendale of the home; one sister, Mrs. Bill (Elaine) May of Homer, La.; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Mt. Zion Free Will Baptist Church. Burial will be in Burkshed Cemetery under the direction of Sisco Chapel.

SPRINGDALE — Walda Mae Lawson Napier, 78, of Springdale, died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. She was born Feb. 18, 1933, in Huntsville, to Martin G. and Bealala Evans Lawson.
Walda worked for Cargill for over 10 years and was a member of the Berry Street Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Clyde Arendale, and her second husband, Omar Napier.
She is stanched by one son, James Arendale of Springdale; two daughters, Carol Land of Fayetteville and Linda Dobbs of Springdale; five brothers, James Lawson and Jerry Lawson, both of Springdale, Don Lawson of Waldron, Lee Lawson of Texas and Lester Lawson of California; one sister, Mary Diamond of California; four grandchildren, Ashley Clark of Clarksville, Cameron Dobbs of Prairie Grove, Reece O'Brien of Rogers and Tim Land of Fayetteville; one great-grandchild, Abram Clark of Clarksville.
Funeral services will be Friday, Feb. 17, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale, with the Rev. Bill Williams and the Rev. Don Seigler officiating. Burial will be in Burkshed Cemetery.
