Springdale — F. W. Artman, 73, of Route 1, Hindsville, died Saturday in the Springdale hospital. He was born Aug. 21, 1894 at Spring Valley, the son of John Henry and Martha Lucinda Phillips Artman, and was a retired farmer and veteran of World War I.
Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Ervene Davis Artman of the home; one son, Joe Webb Jr. of Bossier, La.; three daughters, Mrs. Dale Hess and Mrs. Donald Godsey, both of Aurora, Ill., and Mrs. George Callico of Hindsville; two brothers, Eltie B. of Ponca City, Okla. and Richard of Hindsville; three sisters, Mrs. Ola Gleaves of Dallas, Tex., Mrs. Minnie Whittaker of Weston, Tex. and Mrs. Elizabeth Smith of Edgewater, Fla. and nine grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Burkshed Church with burial in Burkshed Cemetery under direction of Sisco Funeral Chapel.

Hindsville — Thelma E. Artman, 85, of Hindsville, died Friday in a Springdale Hospital. Born Jan. 21, 1901, at Spring Valley, the daughter of William O. and Minnie Mae Southern Davis, she attended the New Hope Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Joe Junior Webb of Wichita, Kin.; three daughters, Minnie Hess of Hindsville, Dorothy Godsey of Excelsior Springs, Mo., and Juanita Harvey of Springdale; four brothers, Ernest Davis of Olivet, Kin., Deward Davis of Gleed, Wash., and Carroll Davis and Darrell Davis, both of Indio, Calif.; two sisters, Ethel Lawson and Grace Bohlen, both of Hindsville; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Zion Free Will Church, with burial in Burkshed Cemetery, under direction of the Sisco Chapel of Springdale. Memorials may be made to the Northwest Arkansas Radiation Treatment Institute.
