ELKINS — Joe Ben Marley, 90, of Elkins passed away Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, in Fayetteville. He was born June 15, 1922, in Breckenridge, Texas, the son of Harry and Frances Amick Marley.
He served in the United States Navy for six years and was a Pearl Harbor survivor, serving on the USS Boise.
He is survived by his wife, Hilda Marley of the home; his children, Susan Curtis and husband, Mark of Rogers, Jeffrey Marley and wife, Marsha of Elkins, Sara Marley of Tonganoxie, Kans.; niece, Sharon Smith of Rogers; nephew, Michael Smith and wife, Brenda of Columbia, Mo.; five grandchildren, Kinlee Wolff and husband, Tyler, Kara Marley, Morgan Marley, Jeffrey Marley and Jacob Marley.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at Beard's Funeral Chapel with Pastor Jasper Hankins officiating. Burial will be in McCord Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today, Jan. 23, 2013, at the funeral home.
