David Wayne Cates, 69, of Mountain View, Arkansas passed way on Friday, May 12, 2017, at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. David was born on March 4, 1948 in Batesville, Arkansas to the late Doyle and Maxine (Anderson) Cates. David was a member of Foothills Baptist Church and was self-employed as a bulldozer operator. David will be greatly missed by all of his loving family and friends.

David is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Betty (Partee) Cates; one son, Corey Cates; one daughter, Tina Looney, and one sister, Linda Archer and husband Dan; one grandson, Bradley Cates and many other extended family and friends.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Doyle and Maxine (Anderson) Cates; brother, Danny Cates; sister in law; Violet Cates; and granddaughter, Darci Looney.

A visitation will take place on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Roller Crouch Chapel in Mountain View, Arkansas. Funeral services will be Thursday, May 18, 2017, 2:00 PM at Foothills Baptist Church in Mountain View, Arkansas with Brother Joe Cannon officiating. Interment will be at Flatwoods Cemetery in Mountain View, Arkansas.

Pallbearers are Rick Dearien, David Dearien, JR Engle, John French, Bryant Morris, Allen Lancaster. Honorary pallbearers include Karl Lloyd, John Stevens, Jack Morris, Harold Lancaster, Larry Hull, Wayne Pinkston, David Gjestvang, and all of his coffee drinking buddies from the Krispy House and Lancaster’s Store.
