Barbara Baker Arnold, 80 of Magnolia, Arkansas passed away on Friday, March 27, 2015 at her home surrounded by her children.
Barbara was born on April 6, 1934 in Shreveport, Louisiana to the late John Lanier Baker and Molly Ruth Rushton Baker. She is a graduate of Magnolia High School and graduated from Texas State College for Women with a bachelor degree in Interior Design. Barbara was a second generation owner of Arnold-Baker Chevrolet Co. and a lifelong and active member of First Presbyterian Church where she served as deacon and elder and in numerous other capacities. In her spirit of giving to others, Barbara has a long history of charitable and volunteer work in this community.
She is preceded in death by parents; husband James Wilson Arnold; an infant daughter Sarah Patricia Arnold; sister and brother in law, Betty and Robert Antoon; and a brother in law Bill Arnold.
Barbara is survived by her children, Mandy Arnold Headrick and husband Marc, Becky Arnold Jones and husband Danny, Debbie Arnold, and Jimmy Arnold and wife Jodie all of Magnolia; her grandchildren, Travis Arnold, Jessica Arnold, Danielle Jones and Sam Jones; cousins, Dr. Linda Rushton Selman and husband Dr. Frank Selman, Parrie Jane Rushton Carroll and husband Tommy and their families.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at 2:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Mike Morgan officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. Visitation with the family will be held on Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 1417 North Jackson Street, Magnolia, Arkansas 71753 or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Pallbearers will be Mark Taylor, Todd Connelly, Todd Smith, Eric Eiler, Keith DuPriest, and Edward Hurley. Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Wood, Ken Williams, and James Reddell.
