Harold Loyd Alford of McRae, age 77, died Thursday, August 14, 2008. He was an Army Veteran and fought in the Korean Conflict, serving at Inchon, Korea. He was proud of his military service and loved his country and his family. Mr. Alford was a retired machinist with Alloy Tech., in Grandville, Michigan; and lifetime member of the VFW and a member of the First Baptist Church in McRae. He is preceded in death by his parents; E.O. and Maggie Mae Alford; his brothers, Joe Alford, Charles Alford; his brothers and their spouses, J.O. Alford and wife Lavell; Huston Alford and wife Susan; his sister Louise (Alford) Cox Atkins. He is survived by Barbara and the late Kenneth Reed, Marvin and Joyce Alford, Linda Failoni and Scott Hamel; Betty and Jack Bundy and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, August 17, 2008 at Westbrook Funeral Home. Funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 18, 2008, at First Baptist Church in McRae, with burial at Lebanon Cemetery in McRae, Arkansas.
Harold suffered the last few years of his life with complications arising from diabetes and most recently with kidney cancer. In spite of being terminally ill, he kept his love of life and a sharp with. With great sadness and much love, his family lays their brother to rest.
