SILOAM SPRINGS — Dale Morris McKinney, 85, of Siloam Springs died Dec. 20, 2003, at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital. He was born Feb. 18, 1918, in Siloam Springs to Claude Pascal and Maude S. Leonard McKinney. He was a graduate of Siloam Springs High School and John Brown University. He was a resident of Siloam Springs since 1985, when he moved from Wichita Falls, Texas. He was a veteran of World War II, retiring as a captain in the Air Force. He graduated from the USAF Pilot Training Program, Air Force Intelligence School, Air Force Aerial Photography School, Air Force Special Nuclear Weapons School, Air Force Flying Instrument School and the Air Force Instructor Instrument Flying School. He accumulated 1,800 flying hours as a first pilot of B-17s and B-29s during World War II. He was a retired air traffic controller for the Federal Aviation Administration. He was a member of Fast United Methodist Church in Siloam Springs.

He was preceded in death by one son, Lawrence Carl McKinney, in 2000.

Survivors include his wife, Clara Frances Easterbrook McKinney of the home, whom he married June 20, 1948; one sister, Gladys Darby of Palm Coast, Fla.; four nephews and five nieces.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs with the Rev. Michael Sutton officiating. Burial will he in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Clara Frances Easterbrook McKinney passed away on August 24, 2016 after a long life on earth. She was born on September 9, 1917 in Pawhuska, Oklahoma to Carl Tracy Easterbrook and Reba Dyer Easterbrook. She graduated from Siloam Springs High School, and went on to earn her degree in Elementary Education from John Brown University in 1942. She married Dale McKinney in 1948 and lived most of her adult life in Texas. She retired from Wichita Falls School System after teaching for more than 25 years. Frances and Dale retired to Siloam Springs in 1987. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Siloam Springs.

Clara Frances was involved in many clubs and activities including PEO Chapter CE, Eastern Star, United Methodist Women’s Circle One, and was a member of The Daughters of the American Revolution. She loved her family and was an avid genealogist, researching history as far back as the 1600s. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Dale, son Lawrence, her two sisters Emma Lou Easterbrook Selby and Ruth Easterbrook Bertin. Aunt Clairie (as she was affectionately known) is survived by her brother-in-law Mayo Selby Sr.; nieces and nephews Rebecca (Selby) & Max Gallup of Grove, OK; Mayo & Debi Selby of Siloam Springs; Chris Selby of Fayetteville; and Fran (Selby) & Rusty McGhee of Tulsa, Doug Nance of Mexico, Elaine Nance of Arizona, and Dale’s niece Marilyn Hall of Siloam Springs; cousins and several great nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at First United Methodist Church in Siloam Springs on Sunday, August 28, 2016 with visitation at 5 p.m. followed by the service at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to PEO Chapter CE, PO Box 709, Siloam Springs, AR 72761.
