Archie Eric Holmquist, 79, of Siloam Springs died Friday, Oct. 28, 1994, at his home.

Born Dec. 29, 1914, at Magnolia, Minn., a son of Albert Eric and Hulda Swanson Holmquist, he was a retired farmer and motel owner. He had been an area resident since 1980. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a Lutheran.

Survivors ere his wife, Astrid Holmquist of the home; three brothers, Chester Holmquist of Tyler, Minn., Vincent O. Holmquist of Helena, Mont., and Elof Holmquist of St, Paul, Minn.; and two sisters, Evelyn Pearson of Slayton, Minn., and Althea Hay of Madera, Calif.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Wasson Memorial Chapel in Siloam Springs. Cremation is by the funeral home.

Astrid Marie Holmquist, 96, of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, died July 2, 2018, at her home. Born January 31, 1922, in Tyler, Minnesota, she was the daughter of Jorgen Christensen and Rigmor Therkildsen Christensen. Astrid married Archie Holmquist on July 13, 1944. She was a registered nurse, wife of a Naval officer, worked hard on the family farm in Tyler, Minnesota for many years. Astrid owned and operated a motel in Cedar City, Utah, retired to Siloam Springs, Arkansas to be near her sister in mid 80’s. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, gardening and especially love her roses. Astrid was a world traveler which she also enjoyed.

Astrid was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Survivors include her sister Alice Elin Campbell of Gentry, Arkansas; nieces Alice Arlene Jardee of Omaha, Nebraska, Dolly Jane Miller of Springdale, Arkansas, Patricia Astrid Adams of Gentry, Arkansas and Valerie Sophia Berry of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and numerous Holmquist nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 6, 2018, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, Arkansas.
