Jesse G. Featherston was born December 9th, 1815 in Rutherford County, Tennessee and died of heart failure August 23, 1899, aged 83 years, 9 months and 14 days. He came to Benton County in 1844; was married to Margarette Carroll October 19, 1854; to them were born ten children. He leaves a wife, eight children, a twin brother and one sister. His death was a great shock to his loved ones as he was suddenly stricken down while at work about the home and could not speak to them the loving comforting words they so longed to hear but left them widowed and fatherless to mourn for one whose place can never be filled. He was a kind, loving father and husband; his children were has pride and he loved them dearly. He professed religion in 1852 and joined the Methodist church. They laid him to rest at New Home, the place he loved so well to worship. A Friend.
