Obituary
DOROTHY F. DEWEESE MCNUTT, of Dallas, Texas born November 12, 1943 in Conner, Arkansas, daughter of Sidney Thomas and Theodore Lyle (Bunch) Deweese. She departed this life Tuesday, December 26, 2017, in Carrollton, Texas at the age of 74 years.
Dorothy worked at Zenith and Liton in Springfield, Missouri and enjoyed quilting and going to quilt shows. She made several beautiful quilts for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her companion of thirty-two years, Loyal George, of Dallas Texas; daughters, Rayette York and husband, Kurt, of Brighton, Missouri, Cheryl Voris of Gun Barrell City, Texas, and Lisa Olsen of Havre, Montana; sister, Sybil Osborn, and husband, James, of Springfield; two nephews, Steve Osborn and Mike Osborn and wife, Laura, and niece, Janel Bagwell and husband, Doug, all of Springfield; grandchildren, Ben Olsen of Washington, Dustin Cheek and wife, Chassity, and Ashley Cheek both of Springfield; great-grandchildren, Harlee Cheek, Ayonna Cheek and Hayden Cheek, all of Springfield; stepchildren, Tracy George and wife, Kelly, of St. Robert, Missouri, Sharmon Vaughan, and husband, Johnny, of Galena, Kansas, Chris George and wife, Christy, of Springfield, and Shandrew George and wife, Angel, of Sioux City, Nebraska; nine step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild; and a host of friends and loved ones.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney and Theodore Deweese and grandparents.
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 4, 2018 at the Nelson’s Green Forest Chapel, Green Forest, Arkansas. Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 5, 2018 at the Nelson’s Green Forest Chapel, Green Forest, Arkansas with Pastor Jerry Spurlock officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Rule Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service.
