Obituary:
Ruby Franks Timmons, born May 7, 1912 to Madden J and Eugenia Franks in Macedonia, AR, died March 12, 2011 in Lafayette, LA at the age of 98. A compassionate, loving and strong lady, she has been the rock of her family. Ruby was eternally gracious, hospitable, determined, and loved unconditionally. Fishing at Toledo Bend and Lake Erling are favorite memories, along with numerous family reunions and get-togethers with children and grandchildren were the most joyous occasions, and any opportunity for making coconut pies and pound cakes. She enjoyed great friendships with Tri State Oil Tool families in Morgan City, Lafayette, and Bossier City, LA. Ruby was a wonderful cook, she gardened with a green thumb, she taught Sunday School and she was a talented artist who loved painting magnolias and oak trees. She was a member of First Baptist Church Magnolia and a charter member of Ser-Tru-Cha Sunday School class. She will be dearly missed, but her deep love for her family will live on forever.
Ruby is survived by one daughter, Sandra Timmons Rodemacher and her husband, Gus C. Rodemacher of Lafayette, LA; five grandchildren, including: Scott Duay of Lafayette, LA, Shelby Duay, Jr. and his wife, Donna, of Livingston, LA, Angi Rodemacher Eagleton and her husband, Steve, of Baton Rouge, LA, Kyle Rodemacher and his wife, Maria, of Madrid, Spain, and Merrick Rodemacher of Lafayette, LA; eight great grandchildren: Lance Duay, Dalton Duay, Sylvia Duay, Shelby Duay, III, step-great granddaughter; Brittney, Caden Eagleton, Connor Eagleton, Brodie Rodemacher, and Sabine Rodemacher; and 23 loving nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, A.D. “Dick” Timmons, and daughter, Sylvia Timmons Duay Dennison. Ruby was the last living of nine siblings: Dewey Franks, Otis Franks, Annie Pharr, Pearl Campbell, Gilbert Franks, Luther Franks, Nora Chisholm, Buena Walker and Sula Smart, and her parents. Undoubtedly, she was greeted in heaven with many open arms.
Special thanks goes to Hospice of Acadiana, Dr. Morris Hoffpauir, Pat Richard, Dee Patin, Judith Crowder, and many others who helped in these last weeks; so many called, visited ,and offered support, also thanks to Betty Hollier, sitter.

Interment will take place at Memorial Park in Magnolia following the funeral service.
