Obituary:
William Paul Huitt, age 68 of Hermitage, AR died Tuesday, May 2nd, 2017 at the John R. Williamson Hospice House in El Dorado, AR. He was born November 8th, 1948, in Warren, AR a son of the late Marvin Huitt and Mildred Chambers Huitt. He worked for Milam Construction Company for 20 years and for South Arkansas Community College for 5 years in maintenance. He loved woodworking, traveling and eating at Cracker Barrel. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps, with one tour in Vietnam. He was a graduate of Hermitage Public Schools and a member of Hermitage Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and a Sunday School Superintendent. He was also preceded in death by a brother Wayne Huitt and two sisters Mary Ann Smith and Marguerite Huitt. Survivors include his wife Gwen York Huitt whom he married May 22nd, 1970. A son Ty Huitt and spouse Leah, Mt. Ida, AR. A daughter Kristi Huitt Clanton, Hermitage, AR. Two brothers Joe Huitt and spouse Sharon, Larry Huitt and spouse Carolyn, all of Warren, AR. A sister Peggy Adams, Warren, AR. 6 grandchildren Brooke Clanton, Fayetteville, AR, Samatha Clanton, Hermitage, AR, Gracia, Ethan, Nathaniel and Hannah Huitt all of Mt. Ida, AR and many family and friends too. Funeral service was 10:00 AM Saturday, May 6th at Hermitage Baptist Church with Rev. Ty Huitt and Rev. Robert Green. Music was by Jennifer Woodfield, Joey Woodfield, Kelli Haigwood and Melvin Mills. Active pallbearers were Matt Huitt, Shannon Huitt, Blake Huitt, Joey Huitt, Brian Huitt, Marty Adams, Josh York and Shannon Lassiter. Honorary pallbearers were Harry Adams, Brian McMurry, Curt Barbee, Deacons of Hermitage Baptist Church and Friends @ South Arkansas Community College. Burial with military honors was in Union Hill Cemetery by Frazer's Funeral Home. Memorials preferred the Hermitage Baptist Church or the John R. Williamson Hospice House in El Dorado, AR.
