Obituary:
Florence Gorman, age 97, of El Dorado, AR, died Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at John R. Williamson Hospice House in El Dorado, AR. She was born June 3, 1920, at Ingalls, AR, a daughter of the late Grady Vickers and Virginia Sharp Vickers. Florence was a retired bookkeeper for O.H. Gorman Poultry Transport, she was a great biscuit maker, a wonderful mother and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in El Dorado, AR. She married Holyan Gorman December 24, 1938, in Ingalls, AR and he died July 9, 1986. Survivors are two daughters, Margaret Anne Combs and spouse, Larry, and Helen Deloris Schroeder and spouse, Harry (Deceased), all of El Dorado, AR; three brothers, Frank Vickers and spouse, Mary, of Dumas, AR, Dan Vickers and spouse, Joyce, of Ingalls, AR and Bobby Vickers and spouse, Sue, of Crossett, AR; one sister, Margie DuBose and spouse, Perry (Deceased), of Ingalls, AR; three grandchildren, Mea Combs and spouse, Marvin Campbell, Lorri Gillis Shaw and spouse, Kelvin Shaw, and Peppermint Combs Rushing and spouse, Robert; five great-grandchildren, Melissa Rushing Compton, Connor Sparr, Price Campbell, Kara Rushing and Josh Rushing; four great-great-grandchildren, Kinley Rushing, Liv Compton, Keaton Rushing and Ziggy Compton. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Herman Vickers and George Thomas Vickers and two sisters, Christine Morgan and Doris Glasgow. Funeral service was 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 21, at Union Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Wayman Mann and Allen Morgan officiating. Active pallbearers were Hunter Vickers, Jeff DuBose, Zack Holtoff, Mark Vickers, Burton Wilson, Craig Savage and Nick Miller. Burial was in Union Hill Cemetery at Ingalls by Frazer's Funeral Home. Memorials preferred The John R. Williamson Hospice House in El Dorado, AR. or the Union Hill Baptist Church in Ingalls, AR.
