Obituary:
Jack D. Harrod, age 81, of Hermitage, AR., (formerly of Laurel, MS), died Thursday October 21, at Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock. Born May 14, 1923 in Bradley County a son of the late Jimmy Harrod and Violet Morgan Harrod he was retired from Masonite Corporation in Laurel, MS with 27 years service, a World War II Army veteran and a Primitive Baptist. Also, preceding him in death was a brother James D. "Spikie" Harrod and sisters Vada Clanton and Dorothy Johnson. Survivors are his wife Jean Wright Harrod whom he married July 4, 1945 in Bradley County, AR. 2 sons Donald Wright Harrod and spouse Sandy of Hot Springs, AR., Larry W. Harrod and spouse Judy of Douglasville, GA. 3 brothers Shelby Harrod of Hamburg, AR., Roger Harrod of Hot Springs, AR. and John Hillary Harrod of Hermitage, AR. 1 sister Ruth Barnett of Hot Springs, AR. 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were 2:00 p.m. Sunday October 24, Union Hill Baptist Church in Ingalls with Rev. Wayman Mann officiaitng. Amy Wright was pianist and soloist was Stephanie Wright. Burial was in Union Hill Cemetery by Frazer's Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Charles Cruise, Lynn Wright, Scott Wright, Brad Harrod, Brent Harrod, Matt Harrod, Johnny Ray Smith and Charles Patton. Honorary pallbearers were members of Hilo Hunting Club.
