Obituary:
Frances Lexine Pope, age 76, of Greenville, Texas died January 12. She was born October 4, 1932 in Smackover, Arkansas a daughter of the late Alexis Davies and Rubettie Jordan Davies. Mrs. Pope formerly worked as a supervisor at Oak Cliff Savings & Loan and Dallas Federal Savings & Loan, which became Bright Bank. She was an extremely caring and giving person, who remained calm, even in the midst of a bank robbery. Mrs. Pope was the first president of the PTA at Mark Twain school in Richardson, Texas, had a green thumb, and loved to laugh. She loved her family, and especially adored her grandchildren. Mrs. Pope enjoyed the holidays, because of the time she could spend with her family, and gave up her career to go with her husband to El Salvador while he was employed with Texas Instruments. She is survived by her husband Jeff Hoyle Pope, Greenville, Tex; a son Richard Pope, Rowlett, Tex; 6 grandchildren Jeff Pope, Jordan Pope, Chris Pope, Jessica Pope, April Smith and Amy Upchurch and a great grandson Frank Jacob Upchurch. She was also preceded in death by a son Jeffrey Mark Pope and a daughter Ina Beth Barnwell. Funeral services were 1:30pm Thursday, January 15, at Frazer's Chapel with Rev. Kurt Horting and Rev. Wayman Mann officiating. Linda Barrett was organist and soloist was Doug Thornton. Burial was in Union Hill Cemetery at Ingalls by Frazer's Funeral Home of Warren. Active pallbearers were Jeff Pope, Chris Pope, Jordan Pope, Frank Upchurch, Brian Hairston and Patrick McNulty.
