January 21, 1880 - February 25, 1963
James Albert Byars, aged 83, formerly of Camden died at the home of a son, James Byars in North Little Rock Monday morning. Mr. Byars was a native of Calhoun County. He had been in North Little Rock about four months. He was a member of the Baptist Church. He is survived by another son Jessie Byars of Camden; a daughter, Mrs. Hoy Evans of Camden; by 13 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Salem Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Ottis Reddin, and Rev. John L. Smith. Burial will be in the Salem cemetery by Proctor Funeral Home. Casket bearers are, Alvie Chambliss, O. V. Shaw, Lee Jones, Tommy Elmore, Edwin Butler and David Rowland. (Camden News - February 26, 1963)
