Billy Michael “Mike” Fortson 62 of Hoxie died May 18, 2016. He was born to Bill & Bernice (Gates) Fortson February 4, 1954 in Hammond, Indiana. He lived in many places as an adult but in recent years had settled in Delaplaine prior to moving to Hoxie. He was of the Baptist belief and married Rosie Hallmark Fortson October 7,1978 together they had four daughters. He worked throughout his life and retired from being an over the road truck driver.
He was preceded in death by his parents & 1 daughter; Bridgett Fortson.
Mike is survived by his wife Rosie Fortson of the home, 3 daughters; Shannon Skimahorn (Alvin) of Peach Orchard, Jennifer Hill (Billy) Hoxie & Katie Fortson of Hoxie, 2 sisters; Vickie Ward of Hoxie, Regina Tracy of O’Kean & 1 brother; Rick Fortson of Delaplaine.
Visitation 10:30am -12:30pm Friday May 20, 2016 at House-Gregg Funeral Home Chapel. Services will follow at 12:30pm, interment in Jones Ridge Cemetery in Delaplaine. Phillip Keeling officiating under the direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge.
