POWHATAN — Charles Louis Rickey, 73, of Powhatan, formerly of Okean, died Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015, at Phil and Flo Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.

He was born on Feb. 26, 1942, to Edward Vernon and Zuma Swift Rickey. He married Gaye Hibbard Rickey on June 30, 1984, and was a member of United Free Will Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Loyd Rickey of Okean.

Survivors include his wife, Gaye; sons, Charles Rickey (Nicole) of Siloam Springs, Robert Rickey (Diane) of Pocahontas and Jamey Sullinger (Kara) of Pocahontas; daughters, Robin Vaughn (Mike) of Pocahontas, Becky Brown of Clover Bend, Natalie Culbreath (Michael) of Memphis; brothers, Elston Rickey (JoAnn) of Paragould, Nelbert Rickey (Kay) of Pocahontas and Joe Rickey (Kathy) of Wichita, Kan.; sisters Margie Gentry of Okean, Melba Watts of Huntsville, Elba Stanley of Springdale and Thea Hughes (Joe) of Cabot; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and lots of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Cox Funeral Home with Glenn Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Jones Ridge Cemetery in Delaplaine under the direction of Cox Funeral Home.
