July 14, 1933 - March 18, 2016

Katye Frances Cassell of Camden passed away at the Ouachita County Medical Center Friday, March 18, 2016 to be with her heavenly Father. She was born July 14, 1933 in Chidester, AR, the first daughter of Katherine Arnold Cassell and Roy Cassell of Tate’s Bluff Community. She was the first grandchild of Katie Smith Arnold and John Frank Arnold. She is pre-deceased by her parents; grandparents; a brother, William Roy Cassell and a brother-in-law, Herman D. Jones.

Ms. Cassell is survived by a sister, JoAnn Cassell Jones of Camden; a niece, Tonya Cassell Allen; a nephew, Mark Cassell; a sister-in-law, Joyce Guesner Cassell, all of West Memphis, AR and an uncle, William Frank Arnold (Frances) of Rogers, AR. She is also survived by very special friends, Emma Jean Wood of Chidester, AR and Ann and Bernard Sarrett of Camden.

Frances became a member of Tate’s Bluff Presbyterian Church at an early age and later became a member of First Presbyterian Church of Camden. She was a 1952 graduate of Chidester High School. She attended Henderson Henderson State University Teachers College in Arkadelphia and went on to teach grade school at Tinsman and Home Economics at Chidester High School. She worked as a bookkeeper at First National Bank of Camden, She also worked for C. D. Sanders, C.P.A. and Charles Kriehn, C.P.A. for many years prior to her retirement. Charles and his wife Sue and a coworker Kathy Beaver Robertson were second family to her, adding much pleasure and care to her life.

Frances will always be remembered by her sister, JoAnn, family, and friends for so many of her own personal unique ways, especially by her sister, JoAnn who loved her dearly as they were always there for each other through the joy they shared or the tears of sorrow. They were almost inseparable growing up and into their older years. Frances often spoke of having a better place to go as she tried to live each day by the serenity prayer, learning to accept the changes that came to her life. Now as I try to feel joy for her I also feel my sorrow and loss, learning to accept also what I cannot change and knowing she is with God in a better place.

JoAnn, family, and friends express a special thanks you to Silver Oaks Rehabilitation for the attention and care given to her and all who visited her to help brighten her days.

Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 11:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. Monday. Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 21, 2016.
