Mrs. Annie Stinnett, aged 65, of Smackover, wife of H. G. Stinnett, formerly of Chidester, died in a Smackover hospital at 4:30 p.m. Saturday. Mrs. Stinnett was born at Augusta, Arkansas, October 2, 1895. She and Mr. Stinnett lived at Chidester for over 18 years before moving to Smackover 21 years ago. She was a member of the Smackover First Methodist Church. Besides her husband she is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Lee Jarvis of Rosston, Mrs. William D. Jarvis of Houston, Texas and Mrs. Thomas H. Boren of Sweeny, Texas, and by six grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Proctor Funeral Chapel, conducted by Rev. Harold Sadler of Smackover. Burial was in the Missouri Cemetery near Chidester. Casket bearers were Paul Brock, C. M. Alstaugh, H. A. Tanner, F. W. Keith, W. A. Warnock, and O. L. Needham. Honorary bearers were members of the Men's Bible Class of the First Methodist Church of Smackover. (Camden News - August 21, 1961)
