TOM D. WEEDMAN, died at home with his family on June 10, 2017. Born in Little Rock, Ark., on March 13, 1946. He was preceded in death by his parents, Heywood Benedict Weedman and Celeste Emma Rebman Weedman, his brothers Heywood Benedict Weedman and Marvin Eugene Weedman.

Tom was born at the old Baptist Hospital in Little Rock. He and his family lived on University Ave. (Hays St.), between Markham and Cantrell Rd. As a boy, he rode his bike up and down the steep hill to playgrounds in the Heights, watched the construction of the original Park Plaza, played baseball at Lamar Porter Field, and learned to swim at War Memorial Park pool. He was baptized a member of The Little Rock Seventh Day Adventist Church, and attended Adventist schools. He graduated from Ozark Adventist Academy in Gentry, Ark., and attended both his 25th and 50th year high school reunions. He graduated with a B.S. from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and completed his MBA from IIT, in Chicago, Ill.

Tom married Candice Kraft in 1969. Later, they had two children, Jonathan Christopher and Angela Michele. He was a good husband and a loving father.

Tom taught elementary school for two years; one year in New Orleans, and one in Little Rock. He worked for Blue Cross/Blue Shield for a year. He then took a position in production planning with Baxter Health Care in Mountain Home, Ark. After three years he continued his career with Baxter, in the Chicago area Corporate Offices. He was a production manager for fourteen years. When Baxter merged with American Health Care, he was offered the same position in California. Moving back to Arkansas was much more appealing.

Tom researched and decided to own his own business. He purchased the Mail Boxes Etc., in North Little Rock, and two years later, one in Jacksonville. When Tom decided to do something he did so wholeheartedly and loved the challenge. He was a meticulous owner and manager. He loved his customers. He spent time getting to know them, and considered each one his personal friend. He spent 25 years working hard and enjoying every day.

Tom had many good qualities: patience, kindness, gentleness, and determination were his strongest. He was quick thinking and had a good sense of humor. Throughout the last year and a half during his illness, he continued to display these qualities every single day.

He is survived by his wife Candice Kraft Weedman, son Jonathan Christopher Weedman of Dallas,Texas, daughter Angela Michelle Weedman Carlton, of Carthage, Mo. He is also survived by son-in-law Tom Carlton, grandchildren Meaghan Shea Carlton, Patrick Joseph Carlton, Brady Thomas Carlton, and Carrigan Rose Carlton, all of Carthage, Mo., nephews Vic and Kirk Weedman, Michael Kraft, and niece Gina Kraft.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to service. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. at Missouri Cemetery, in Chidester, Ark.
