John Calvin Henson was born on September 21, 1887, in Knoxville, Arkansas, the son of John. He married Etta Starr on September 26, 1909, in Faulkner, Arkansas. They had five children in 10 years. He was living in Faulkner, Arkansas, when he registered for the World War I draft. He was living in Faulkner, Arkansas, when he registered for the World War II draft in 1942 at the age of 55.
