When Martha Lee Hopkins was born on May 20, 1881, in Batesville, Mississippi, her father, Larkin, was 27, and her mother, Emily, was 26. She had two sons with Leonard Alexander Potts between 1910 and 1913. She died in January 1970 in Little Rock, Arkansas, at the age of 88, and was buried in Mayflower, Arkansas.
