BURDEN, Nancy D. WELLS - Mrs. Nancy D. Burden, wife of E.C. Burden, died at her home in the northeast part of Rogers Monday night at 9:20 o'clock. She had been ill the past four months with yellow jaundice and just slowly faded away. Her condition had been considered serious for some time. Funeral services were held this morning at ten o'clock at the grave in the Rogers cemetery. The deceased was born July 4, 1833 in Nicholas county, Kentucky and her maiden name was Nancy D. Wells. She was married to E.C. Burden October 11, 1849 and to them were born four children, three of whom are now living and are as follows: Mrs. Cynthia Woods, Raymond, Kansas; Mrs. Elizabeth Booth, Harris, Arkansas and W.S. Burden of Chase, Kansas. The two last named children were here at the time of their mother's death. Mr. and Mrs. Burden were born and raised in the same locality in Kentucky and lived there after their marriage until 1879 when they removed to Kansas. They came to Rogers in '97. The Democrat extends its sympathy to the family.
