Sgt. First Class (Ret.) Nolan James, 92, US Army Veteran of WWII and Korean War, passed away on March 10, 2018, a 22-year resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Arkansas.

Funeral services will be held 11AM, Saturday, April 28 at South Cross Roads Cemetery in Rose Bud, Arkansas. Visitation will be held 6-8PM, Friday, April 27 at Family Funeral Service in Heber Springs.

Nolan was born February 23, 1926 to Vess and Hester (Adcock) James near Rose Bud, Arkansas where his grandparents were early settlers.

His 20 years of military service were distinguished with the Army Commendation Medal, Bronze Star from WWII, Combat Infantryman Badge, and 3 Battle Stars for combat in three major campaigns (Ardennes, Rhineland, Central Europe) as he served with the 35th Infantry Division in Europe during WWII.

Devoted husband of 70 years to Jean McGougan James and father of Gary (JoAnna) James of Memphis TN, Peggy Vidrine of Baton Rouge LA, and Suzi James of Little Rock AR; Nolan is also survived by two grandchildren, Duane (Ashley) James and Ginger James, and four great-grandchildren of Memphis TN; and a nephew, Phil (Jana) James of Clinton TN.
