When Dorothy A.V. Boyd was born on July 30, 1921, in Mayflower, Arkansas, her father, Jesse, was 37, and her mother, Minnie, was 17. She married Jim W Gilbreath on Sept 2, 1939. They had eight children during their marriage. She died on November 18, 1971, in her hometown at the age of 50, and was buried there.
