When Dorothy A.V. Boyd was born on July 30, 1921, in Mayflower, Arkansas, her father, Jesse, was 37, and her mother, Minnie, was 17. She married Jim W Gilbreath on August 24, 1939. They had eight children during their marriage. She died on November 18, 1971, in her hometown at the age of 50, and was buried there.

Jim Wilson Gilbreath, 89, of Mayflower, passed away Thursday, May 17, 2007.
Born April 18, 1918, in Coal Hill, AR, to the late Lewis Pawley and Mernerva (Stutchman) Gilbreath, he was retired from AP&L and a member of IBEW.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Ardella (Boyd).
He is survived by six sons, Jesse Gilbreath of Conway, Ronnie Gilbreath of Jonesboro, Gary Gilbreath of Sherwood, Lewis Steve Gilbreath of Mayflower, Terry Gilbreath of Conway, and Phillip Gilbreath of Paron, AR; two daughters, Betty Ann Patterson of Jackson, TN, and Cheryle Wheeler of Ward, AR; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Joey Gilbreath of Vincentown, NJ; and a sister, Pearl V. Goree of Springdale, AR.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway with Bro. Joel Holmes officiating. Interment will follow at Mayflower Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Phillip Gilbreath, Stephen Gilbreath, Tyler Gilbreath, Terry Gilbreath, Seth Whitfield, and Caleb Whitfield.
