When Archie Marion Troutman was born on November 25, 1902, in Benedict Township, Arkansas, his father, James, was 26 and his mother, Della, was 17. He married Mary Sybil Clifton on October 14, 1925, in Mayflower, Arkansas. They had two children during their marriage. He died on November 20, 1979, in Conway, Arkansas, at the age of 76.
