Bronze Star Medal
William ''Bill'' Curtis Thompson joined our Lord Jesus on March 28, 2016. Bill was 52 years old. Bill loved his family and his church family and friends as much as he loved his own family. He served in the Army National Guard and then the U.S. Army Reserves where he served three tours of duty, Kuwait, Iraq, and Afghanistan. He was awarded the U. S. Army Bronze Star Medal, U. S. Army Commendation Medal, U.S. Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal (2nd award), Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War On Terrorism Service Medal, U.S. Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and U. S. Armed Forces Reserve Medal. He worked for the City of North Little Rock Electric Department for 17 years.
He is survived by his father, George Thompson; wife, Kim; brothers, Wayne and Warner Thompson; sister, Patty Thompson; daughters and their husbands: Courtney and Kyle Estes; Sydney Thompson; Lindsey and Matthew Pruss; and grandson, Noah Estes. He was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda Thompson; and granddaughter Leah Marie Estes. Pallbearers are Raymond Lowe, Darryl Scoggin, Kyle Estes, Matthew Pruss, Jesse Thompson, Jake Thompson, Austin Pruss, and Eric Burton. Honorary pallbearers are Noah Estes, Ross Thompson, Payton Thompson, Mayson Thompson, and Steve Yant.
Services are to be held at Cedar Heights Baptist Church at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 31, 2016, with visitation Wednesday, March 30, 2016, from 6-8p.m. at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Conway. Burial will follow at Mayflower Cemetery.
