Herbert A. Schaffhauser, 88, of Helena, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2008 in Helena. Mr. Schaffhauser was born June 15, 1920 in Barton, Arkansas to the late Paul Schaffhauser and the late Annie Leifer Schaffhauser. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion.He is survived by two sons, Derryl Schaffhauser and wife, Carolyn, and Jimmy Schaffhauser and wife, Phyllis, all of West Helena; five grandchildren, Chris Schaffhauser, Curtis Schaffhauser, Tom Schaffhauser, Jacquline Brady and Melissa Ferguson; and six great-grandchildren. Services for Herbert Schaffhauser will be held on Friday, October 17, 2008 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m., with rosary services beginning at 7 p.m. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Helena. Father Joe Marconi will officiate. Pallbearers will be Chris Schaffhauser, Curtis Schaffhauser, Tom Schaffhauser, Tom Ferguson, Dale Kummer and Billy Kummer. Honorary pallbearers will be the Knights of Columbus. Memorials may be made to donor's choice.Services directed by Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, West Helena, (870) 572-2571.
