Mary S. Lyons, 75, of Magnolia, AR, passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2016 in Gonzales, LA, at her daughter’s residence.

Mary was born October 23, 1940, in Wichita Falls, TX, to the late Leslie Leo and Elizabeth Virginia (Adcock) Gibbons. She was a member of Central Baptist Church for 51 years. She served in many capacities in the Magnolia Quota Club, and she was a devoted patriot serving the Columbia County Republican Women Committee. Mary was the Columbia County coordinator for the United Blood Service for many years. She served as Secretary of the Magnolia Riding Club and assisted coordination of the Columbia County Fair Parade for many years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, baby sister Faye Pittman, twin sister Wanda Alpers, and brother Kenneth Gibbons.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Kim Newell of Magnolia, AR, Kathy Green and husband Randy of Magnolia, AR, and Teresa Prestridge and husband Stuart of Gonzales, LA; brother Dafford Gambill and wife Mary of Iowa Park, TX; grandchildren, Mandy Plyler of El Dorado, AR, Justin Williamson of Magnolia, AR, David Green and wife Mandy of Magnolia, AR, April McDowell and husband Vick of Fayetteville, AR, Andrew Prestridge of Phoenix, AZ, and Valerie Prestridge of Phoenix, AZ; great grandchildren, Riley Williamson, Landon Plyler, Addyson Plyler, Kinley Plyler, Serenity Green, and Alexandra Green.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 13, 2016, at the Lewis Chapel with Steve Ford officiating. Burial will follow at the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. of Magnolia, AR. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday, October 12, 2016, at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Buddy Baker, Gene Ravenscraft, Eddy Huskey, Barry Waters, Denny Foster, James Douthit. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Butler, Jim Hall, Bud Huskey, and Don Bailey.

Memorials can be made to Central Baptist Church of Magnolia, the Salvation Army, or Shriners Hospital.
