Nita M. Lang, 95, of Magnolia, AR passed away Sunday, June 9, 2013 at the Magnolia Regional Medical Center in Magnolia.
Nita was born June 23, 1917 in Bedias, TX to the late Marshall M. and Nannie Sally (Barry) Williams. Nita was a retired beautician and Avon representative. She was a member of the Central Baptist Church since 1958 and was a den mother for the Boys Scouts and Cub Scouts in Levelland, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Carl Lang, three sisters, and two brothers.
She is survived by her son, Billy “Corky” Thornton and wife Brenda; grandsons Chance Thornton and wife Ashley and Sean Wingfield; and great granddaughter Skiler Wingfield, all of Magnolia; stepdaughter, Karla June Lang of Tucson, Arizona; several nieces and nephews of Lamesa and Midland, TX; loving companion and friend, her dog Suzie Q; and caregivers GiGi Baucum and Shirley Gilbert.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Bro. Steve Ford officiating under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., of Magnolia.
Pallbearers will be Chance Thornton, Sean Wingfield, Harper Baucum and Charles Trexler.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Central Baptist Church or to Columbia County Animal Protection Society (CCAPS).
The family thanks Dr. Fred Murphy, Dr. Eric Henriksen and staff and the Magnolia Regional Medical Center for their continued prayers and support.
