When Ray Holland was born on August 25, 1921, in Cherry Hill Township, Arkansas, his father, Johnny, was 23 and his mother, Kathleen, was 21. He had two children with Hilda Verna Finkbiner. He died as a young father in January 1945 at the age of 23.
