Charles T. James "Chucky", 72, of North Little Rock passed away on October 1, 2016. He was born on May 4, 1944 in Mayflower, Arkansas to Charles Jr. and Helen Irby James. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Judy Dempsey James and brother, Eldon. Chucky attended the Arkansas School for the Deaf.

He is survived by his son, Tommy; granddaughter, Jessyca; sister, Margie James Cates (Gary); brother, Kenny James (Donna); a dear sister-in-law, Penny Lipke and two great-grandchildren.

A special thank you to Dr. Sauer, the nurses and staff of 3C at Springhill Baptist, Baptist Hospice and North Little Rock CARTI. You were all his watchful angels. Your kindness and care was unmeasurable. Chucky had such a loving heart and the kindest smile. He will be missed by all that knew him.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, October 5 at Mayflower Cemetery beginning at 1 p.m. with Brother Larry Pearce and Brother Rob Slagley officiating. Judy Mae (Dempsey) James, age 61 of Jacksonville, AR passed away on Monday, January 10, 2011. She was born in Little Rock, AR on Thursday, December 29, 1949 to Edward Eugene and Eliza Mae Dempsey. Judy was preceded in death by her father.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Thomas James, Jr; one son, Tommy DeWayne (fiancé, April Carter) of Jacksonville; one grand daughter, Jessyca Autumn James; her mother, Mae Dempsey; two sisters, Penny Lipke (Louis) of Little Rock and Brenda Kay Case (Frankie) of Elkton, KY; and one brother, Paul Fimpel, Sr of North Little Rock, AR and a host of nieces and nephews.

Judy had a big heart for children and she worked for the Arkansas School for the Deaf for 28 years. She was a house-parent and former member of the Dorm Counselors Association at Ark. School for the Deaf and a Boy Scout leader and secretary for the lower school cub scouts at the school. She enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting and most of all loved gatherings and camping with her family. Judy was also a member of Victory Baptist Church, Jacksonville, AR.

Judy's family would like to express a deep appreciation to the staff at Hospice Home Care In-patient Center, Bowman Road, Little Rock for the wonderful care given to her.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Roller-Owens Funeral Home Chapel, 5509 JFK Blvd, North Little Rock (501-791-7400). Reverend Bob Slagley officiating, with Eddie Schmeckenbecher, Interpreter and Bryant Allen music director . Visitation is 6 to 8 P.M., Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Roller-Owens Funeral Home. Interment will be at Mayflower Cemetery, Highway 89 West, Miller Road, Mayflower, AR.
