Thurman Thurl Vest of Melbourne, Arkansas
Thurman Thurl "TT" Vest, son of the late John Wesley and Minnie Ada Banning Vest was born October 9, 1927 in Boswell, Arkansas. He departed this life July 25, 2018 in Melbourne, Arkansas at the age of 90 years, 9 months and 16 days. He was united in marriage to Eutha Mae Hunt November 7, 1952 and together they raised four children. TT spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, provider and friend. During his working years, he traveled to Washington to work in the orchards, he was a hog farmer, he was employed at the sawmill, Bandmill Home Center and Boeing Aircraft. He retired from Boeing after fifteen years of employment. TT loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting deer and turkey. He was of the Church of Christ faith and was a member of Melbourne Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years: Euth Mae Vest of Melbourne; two sons: Donnie Vest of Rogers and Tim Vest of Melbourne; two daughters: Evelyn Linvell of Newport and Tammy Stroud and husband Rusty of Jonesboro; one sister: Lorene Gillihan of Batesville; ten grandchildren; several great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Earthel Vest and Eugene Vest; five sisters: Virgie Rush, Odie Rush, Ruby Sims, Mae Cooper, Delphie Campbell; one son-in-law: Raymond Linvell and two grandchildren: Jason Stroud and Amber Lunsford.
Visitation will be Friday, July 27 from 5-7 p.m. at Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Funeral service will be Saturday, July 28 at 10:00 a.m. at Howard Memorial Funeral Chapel with Chuck Crow officiating. Burial will be at Combs Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Luke Vest, Jared Vest, Jeremy Vest, Travis Linvell, Cole Stroud, Levi Stroud.
Honorary Pallbearers: Franklin Rush, Clovis Vest, Darrell Vest and Roy Gillihan.

Eutha Mae Hunt Vest was born May 30, 1935 in Knob Creek, Arkansas to Osbie and Vada Hunt. She passed away peacefully October 11, 2020 in Searcy, Arkansas at the age of 85. She moved down the hill a quarter mile to marry her husband, Thurl Vest November 7, 1952. Always a hard worker, she held various jobs. Starting at the Hall Hotel on the square in Melbourne and also waitressing at Archer’s Café and picking strawberries with her family in the bottoms. She and Thurl worked the fruit harvest around Wenatchee, Washington for many summers in their early married life, until they both got full time jobs. She retired from Baxter Lab having been there over 20 years. Eutha had a strong Christian upbringing, with teaching and socializing centered around the church. She was baptized into Christ and worshipped at Jumbo and with the Melbourne Church of Christ.
Eutha is survived by her brother: Hershel Hunt and wife Rosa of Odessa, Missouri; one sister: Eula Fulbright of Mount Pleasant; four children: Donnie Vest, Evelyn Linvell of Newport, Tim Vest of Melbourne, Tammy Stroud and husband Rusty of Jonesboro; eight grandchildren: Jamey Vest (Christene), Jeremy Vest (Rachel), Jerrad Vest (Willa), Mindy Linvell, Travis Linvell, Luke Vest, Cole Stroud, Levi Stroud (Ashley); several great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and many good friends. All of these she loved and touched deeply.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two grandchildren: Amber Lunsford, and Jason Stroud; two infant siblings Cleta and Clayton Hunt, son-in-law: Raymond Linvell; brother-in-law: Joe Fulbright.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 13 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Funeral service will be Wednesday, October 14 at 9:00 a.m. at Howard Memorial Funeral Chapel in Melbourne with Chuck Crow officiating. Burial will follow at Combs Cemetery in Melbourne.
Pallbearers: Jamey Vest, Jeremy Vest, Jerrad Vest, Travis Linvell, Cole Stroud, Levi Stroud and Luke Vest.
