ROGERS — Gladys Mae Bockholt, 93, passed away May 10, 2016, at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville. She was born March 10, 1923, in Basile, La., the daughter of Alexie and Marie Manuel. She married Clem "Buck" Bockholt on Sept. 12, 1945. She and Buck moved to Northwest Arkansas in 1954.
She is survived by her six children: James Bockholt (Sandy), Pineville, Mo., Victor Bockholt (Nancy), Bentonville; Barbara Daugherty, Little Rock, Jane Bockholt, Rogers; Mary Lewallen (Tim), Fayetteville; Margaret Allen (Joe) of Springdale; seven grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great grandchildren; one sister, Peggy Reeves, Ragley, La.; and her aunt, Bernice Guillory, Slidell, Louisiana and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by one sister and one brother, and her husband, Clem "Buck" Bockholt. Her first love was taking care of her family. She was a skilled seamstress and enjoyed sewing clothes for herself and her daughters. She also loved crocheting, quilting, and reading. She was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Ladies Altar Society for many years.
Rosary services at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, May 12, with visitation 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Benton County Funeral Home, 306 N. 4th, Rogers. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday; May 13, 2016, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Rogers. Interment will follow in the St. Vincent Cemetery, Avoca. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Circle of Life Hospice, or St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Rogers. Online condolences to www.bentoncountyfuneralhome.com.
