When Charles William "Willie" Clifton was born on June 5, 1884, in Arkansas, his father, William, was 29 and his mother, Sarah, was 25. He married Dora J Henson on June 4, 1906, in Conway, Arkansas. They had eight children in 17 years. He died on March 23, 1965, at the age of 80, and was buried in Mayflower, Arkansas.
