When David Virgil Campbell was born on October 21, 1899, in Sharp, Arkansas, his father, William, was 37 and his mother, Margarite, was 32. He married Rosa Lindaberry on August 16, 1917. They had seven children during their marriage. He died on January 8, 1990, in North Little Rock, Arkansas, at the age of 91, and was buried in Mayflower, Arkansas.
