David A Callihan was born on August 13, 1859, in South Carolina. He had four sons and one daughter with Martha Ann "Mattie" Pearce between 1873 and 1889. He died on March 23, 1911, in Faulkner, Arkansas, at the age of 59, and was buried in Mayflower, Arkansas.
