When Michael H Brashear was born in January 1860 in Arkansas, his father, Basil, was 53 and his mother, Eliza, was 33. He married Susan J Gillem in 1879. They had eight children in 24 years. He died on March 30, 1914, in his hometown at the age of 53, and was buried in Mayflower, Arkansas.
